Brief Summary Of Our History
Praxis Claims Consulting (“Praxis”) was founded in August 2006 as a limited liability company (LLC) by Brian D. Stiefel, CPCU, in response to the demand for quality, reliable, and trustworthy claims consulting and auditing services. In 2009, Praxis became a C-corporation domiciled in New Hampshire.
For the nine years prior to the creation of Praxis, Brian was employed by a premier London reinsurance intermediary and was charged with the oversight and management of claims generated from several programs written on U.S. domestic paper and reinsured through Lloyds of London. In 2004, on behalf of his employer, Brian began to offer his claims consulting services to outside clients. Praxis was formed in 2006 to take on the existing clients of Brian’s employer as offering claims consulting services was not in their long range corporate business plan.
Timothy Vincent, CPCU, joined Praxis as a Vice President in 2014 with his main responsibilities being the conducting of audits and oversight of claims operations. In February 2021, Timothy became the managing partner with the responsibility of overseeing daily business operations and providing overall strategic direction for the organization.

Brian has over 42 years’ experience in the claims industry and has held various positions with insurers including vice president of claims. Brian has conducted audits and/or provided management and oversight for several GL, auto liability, property and workers’ compensation programs including school districts, public entities, housing authorities, and public transportation. Brian has also conducted auto, general liability, Workers’ Compensation as well as property audits for both domestic and international clients providing general and professional liability, auto and commercial property cover in the United States.
Through his duties, Brian maintains front line claims handling experience and is currently retained by an Ireland-based reinsurer, Trisura International Holdings Limited., to provide sole management and oversight of their runoff business in the U.S. He attends trials and settlement conferences with full policy limits authority to settle or proceed to judgment.
Tim has over 23 years’ experience in the claims industry and has held various positions within the public entity sector. Tim’s most recent position prior to Praxis was Program Manager of a multi-line public entity risk pool where he was responsible for the administration of program operations, claims management, and risk control initiatives.
He holds the designations of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Managed Healthcare Professional (MHP), and Management Liability Insurance Specialist (MLIS). Tim has conducted audits and/or provided oversight for several public entity programs with general liability, errors & omissions, auto liability, property, and workers’ compensation programs.
Tim holds the designation of Certified Leadership Professional from the International Association of Insurance Professionals as well as a Professional Certificate in Leadership & Management from the University of Vermont.
